How to set my timex ironman triathalon 100 lap watch for walk run ratio?

I used to know this stuff cold but I haven’t been using the features of my watch much lately. I’m running with a friend who is doing her first marathon and I was going to show her the Jeff Galloway run/walk stuff and I can’t for the life of me get the intervals set correctly in my watch. I looked at Timex’s site. They have a PDF of the instructions but I’m too dense and visually impaired to make sense of them. I’ll be ever grateful to the person who can give me the “for dummies” version of the steps to setting the repeating timers for the walk/run intervals.

Pull up the PDF file on the Timex site, as you’ll need it to follow the instructions. It’s actually much simpler than it looks. Remember that there are six buttons on the watch, starting at the upper right (Recall) and ending on the upper left (Indiglo) in a clock-wise fashion. In the instructions, you want section 8 (this is on the 100-lap watch, but I assume they’re similarly written). In the instructions it tells you which button to press. The button is in a circle, so, for example, the first step shows 5 5. This means you press the fifth button (Mode) twice. If you see 1+ and 4- it means press the 1 button to increase and the 4 button to decrease. 3×9 means press the 3 button 9 times. Also, make sure when you set the number of laps that you go all the way to C (it goes 1 through 9, then C). C is continuous. Otherwise, if you stop at say 5, your watch will only work for 5 laps. I made that mistake on a run one time and I wasn’t happy.
