Q: What is Pixwirl Imager?
A: Pixwirl Imager is a program not only for fast and automatic image download, also is an image database management system to store Web sites, Web pages, and image information from the Internet. It's a combination of image downloader and automatic image album system.

Q: What's the difference between Pixwirl Imager and other image downloading software?
A: Unlike other similar programs, Pixwirl Imager not only helps downloading desired images, also it keeps the information of Web sites, pages, images in a database. It is not only an image downloader, also it's an image and Web site organizer. Downloaded image can be easily retrieved; duplicate downloading is avoided, and all the links and Web sites you are interested are well organized.

Q: What is multi-page downloading?
A: Pixwirl Imager does not use level to control the depth of link searching. The drawback of this method is you can't control the direction of recursive link searching, hence the program might open some links you actually do not want. Even worse, if some links are blind or sit on slow server, the program might wait a long time before responding. Pixwirl Imager let you control the direction of link searching by setting some conditions on URL, thumbnail image file name, link's display text, etc. For example, you can let Pixwirl Imager only opens next page when the link display text start with "page". Multiple conditions can also be set on these kinds of link. For example, you can set two conditions and set logical operation to "AND", then only a link meets both conditions will be opened.

Q: How script is used in Pixwirl Imager?
A: Many Web sites do not post their image page links directly. The URL of a real image page link might be embedded in a URL in a way such as http://www.hostsite/index.cgi?URL=http://www.realimagesite/page.htm. You have to open some advertisement pages several times before a real image page is opened. With Pixwirl Imager, you can create a script to get the embedded URL and open it directly. Script can also be used when you create page folder in Pixwirl Imager. The title of a page folder is usually the display text of a page link. Pixwirl Imager will use the page title to create a subfolder in your computer and store all the images this page contains to that folder. Therefore, a page title can't contain any invalid characters disallowed by Windows Explorer. This task can be very tedious when you add hundreds of links at same time. Script can be used in this case to automatically change the title or eliminate any invalid characters from all page titles.

Script is just an extra tool in Pixwirl Imager, you can choose not to use it at all. You don't have to be a programmer to write your own script code. Only several VBScript string manipulation functions are used in this software. You can find examples in help file.

Q: I clicked download button but nothing happens, what's the problem?
A: Check the setting. Make sure the link type, image filter, thumbnail filter, and link filter are set correctly. For example, if you set thumbnail filter to jpg but the actual thumbnail type is gif, then no image will be downloaded. Also, check the download log and Internet connection.

Q: Why I can't open a link in a new window?
A: Make sure the Suppress Popup button is unpressed. It is the last button on the toolbar. This button can be used to kill popup Ad when downloading, but it also blocks any new window events.

Q: Why I can't find a folder in my collection that I know it exists?
A: Make sure you enter the search criteria in correct fields, and search option such as Exact, Contain, Begin with, End with for each search field are properly set. Check if any parent search criteria are entered for your search too.

Q: How do I know which link type I should choose?
A: Open a page in Pixwirl Imager browser. Select a link that opens an image, then click menu View->Active Element Code or hit F4. The HTML code of the selected link will show in Notepad. For example, if the HTML code reads as

<A href="http://www.samplesite.com/page1/image1.jpg">
<img src= "http://www.samplesite.com/page1/imagethb1.jpg"></A>,

then you know the link type should be Anchor link because the link uses HTML tag <A>. The link will open an image at http://www.samplesite.com/page1/image1.jpg, and this link also has a thumbnail whose URL is http://www.samplesite.com/page1/imagethb1.jpg.

Q: I have more questions - who should I write to?
