who would win this race?
just the otehr day I had a thought, although impossible it’d be nice to think about and watch
if there was a race at Laguna seca and the field was filled wth 10 Sprint cup Drivers/COT’s (champions plus a few good road racers) 10 F1 drivers and cars, 10 Daytona Prototypes (Le mans cars?) and 10 Camping world Trucks. who would win the race?
I’d put my money on the Daytona prototypes but what do you think?

Not even close. The F1 car would win. Even the slowest version of the 2010 F1 car would demolish a Daytona Prototype. No race car on this planet brakes harder, turns quicker, accelerates faster, or has more downforce than a F1 machine. I’d be willing to bet that with a quick enough driver, a F1 car could pit every 10-15 laps for fuel and tires and still win the race, no matter what the distance, reliability not considered. F1 cars appear to be pretty fragile compared to the rest, they only have to race for about 2 hours or so. A Prototype might be able to win an endurance race of 8 hrs or more just by outlasting the F1 car.
